The first BMW (Dixi) was primarily an English Austin. Bantam in the U.S. built the same car. For Japan, it came as Datsun. The credit goes to Austin for designing and building chassis to be used under license across the globe. Many companies followed to avoid the costs of initial development related to making a car.
Fastest Motorcycle
In the year 1937, BMW set the world record for fastest motorcycle. A death trap, it was not easy to dismount in an emergency sans the driver decapitating himself through the process. However, it was supercharged and aerodynamically and incredibly capable of going up to 173.7mph.
The First Electric Car
BMW built it in the year 1972. The car used a dozen batteries and can drive for up to 19 miles at a stretch. A marvel at engineering, it had less than 50hp but did really well!
The WWII-era Parts are Still Made!
